A refugee is someone who has been forced to flee his or her home country due to a well-founded fear of persecution. In Canada, there are two schemes for Refugee processing, viz:
1. The Refugee and Humanitarian Resettlement Program: This program caters for refugees outside Canada who intend to resettle in the Country. The UNHCR, Private and Community sponsors, and Groups of Five are main actors under this scheme. They work with the Canadian government to identify, sponsor, and resettle these out-of-country refugees into Canada. Pilot Immigration Consulting does not offer services under this scheme.
2. The In-Canada Asylum Program: This scheme handles the provision of refugee protection/asylum to individuals within Canada who have a well-founded fear of persecution or are at risk of torture, or cruel or unusual punishment in their home countries. Pilot Immigration Consulting provides services to persons whose circumstances match those that fall under this category.
